Origins of CumRocket

Lyd was just 23 years old and fresh out of college with a degree in software engineering. She began investing her savings in the stock market as the 2020-2021 bull run was taking off. Seizing the opportunity, she started making TikTok videos about investment, attracting an audience intrigued by a woman navigating the finance world.

Her popularity soared, with her videos going viral in the stock investor community. Despite facing sexist comments and criticism for her lack of experience, she persevered. Leveraging her newfound popularity, Lyd saw a new opportunity.


She conducted some market research and identified the burgeoning cryptocurrency market as her next focus. She aimed to create a token with real utility, providing value to investors and ensuring they felt proud of their decision to invest.

The OnlyFans Explosion

The adult platform OnlyFans was experiencing explosive growth, evidenced by soaring revenue numbers, and projections to future years were extremely possitive.

Lyd envisioned combining the concept of OnlyFans with cryptocurrency. This ambitious idea required significant funding, so the initial coin offering (ICO) needed to inspire confidence among early investors.


She had several things in her favour:


  • A doxxed TikTok content creator founder who is also a woman.

  • A utility token idea.

  • Proven market demand, evidenced by the success of OnlyFans and the current crypto bull run.

  • No fear of mockery or failure.


Then, several other key elements goals were also established:


  • A funny and catchy name.

  • Memecoin status.

  • An actual beta platform.

  • Epic logo and visual identity.

The Memecoin with Utility

Lyd named her coin CumRocket, inspired by a humorous phrase from Elon Musk during a Joe Rogan interview. The name was bold and provocative, ideal for the adult industry, and perfect for the emerging memecoin market, which was gaining recognition thanks to DOGE coin's success. However, she was aware of the reputational risks in a conservative market where memecoins and real businesses had not yet merged.

Recognized famous investors were shocked by the massive success

CumRocket was launched at the perfect time with the right ingredients. It received mixed reactions but garnered enough support to be mentioned on television and reach an increasingly higher market capitalization, especially after appearing on an HBO comedy show.


However, like many other cryptocurrencies with fluctuating value, it had to go through a period of adjustment. It was then that I decided to delve even deeper into the project, both as an investor and as part of the creative and strategic force behind it.


A week later, something even more extraordinary happened...

"CumRocket to the Moon"

On Jun 5, 2021, Elon Musk tweeted about CumRocket, causing its value to skyrocket again, reaching a $400M market cap.

It was the fastest tenfold increase I had ever seen. Investors were ecstatic, and Lyd became a virtual millionaire.

The Day After

The initial surge of success was met with a sharp price drop as early investors cashed out their profits. Unfortunately, I wasn't among those who sold everything at that peak. Surprisingly, neither was Lyd. Through conversations on Telegram and Discord with each other, and rest of the community, we remained convinced of the project's long-term potential.

The Marketplace

In October 2021, CumRocket debuted a platform for adult content creators to sell NFTs using their cryptocurrency, $CUMMIES. Partnering with 50 prominent models boasting a combined reach of 19 million followers, CumRocket garnered significant attention and became known as the "Web3 OnlyFans." The marketplace achieved early success, attracting 10,000 users including 2,000 creators.

The Bear

Despite a strong initial reception for the marketplace, user expectations evolved. A subscription feature, similar to OnlyFans, was highly anticipated. However, the development team encountered unforeseen challenges, leading to their departure and causing internal technical issues that hampered future progress. The volatile nature of the cryptocurrency market, often characterized by rapid gains and losses, unfortunately played a role.

CumRocket token price collapsed from $0.30 to $0.0027 during 2022.

The arrival of the 2022-2023 bear market further exacerbated these difficulties. CumRocket's token value dropped steadily, reaching a market cap of $1.5 million.


Faced with these challenges, the NFT marketplace was ultimately shut down, leading to a decline in community engagement and investor confidence. Despite these setbacks, I remained committed to the project, confident in its long-term potential.

E-Kitten

In crypto, community engagement is crucial, especially for memecoins. CumRocket had a strong community, and I became more involved, working closely with Lyd and other members. Despite some disagreements, we pushed forward with the project.


Lyd’s vision evolved from replicating OnlyFans to creating a new platform called E-Kitten, focused on human connection. After much discussion and very hard times, the community and committed members organized to support the project.

A Better Social Experience

Human connection is a core need, and E-Kitten aims to fulfill this in a unique way. Traditional paid sites like OnlyFans often lead to negative experiences due to misaligned expectations and mass messaging, making fans feel disconnected.

Paid fan sites often lead to frustration on both ends—fans feel exploited, and creators feel overwhelmed by low-quality interactions.


Popular creators resort to agencies, which can damage the authenticity of interactions.

A new platform focused on messaging as the core experience, promoting authentic interactions.


To ensure genuine engagement, building deeper connections, enhancing both fan satisfaction and creator profitability.

The Design

For a social app to be successful, there needs to be incentives for both creators and fans to use the platform over competitors.


One way to do this is to by providing a different kind of experience. Imagine a Tinder-style UI, where you can chat with any creator on the app for a fee. Similarly, with OnlyFans, there's no easy way to find new creators to chat with as the experience is centred around content rather than connections.

One of the first E-Kitten prototypes

To unlock someone's DMs on E-Kitten, users will have to pay their monthly subscription fee which will allow them to send unlimited messages to the desired creator. However, this will be changing to also include micropayments (if users do not wish to subscribe, they can instead pay as they go).

Users will also be able to purchase 'gems' and redeem them for in-app experiences, which include sending a message to someone, revealing a piece of content that was sent to them, and being able to pay for priority messages for the day.

The Coin That Survived

As 2023 drew to a close, the markets started to heat up again. With the impending approval of a Bitcoin ETF and a surge in meme and AI coins, CumRocket was poised for a resurgence. However, this time things were different:

Token Utility

Whilst crypto is definitely getting more popular, it's still not as widely adopted as fiat and still has a long way to go in terms of usability. Fiat remains the king for now, and as such it's important to take a blended approach as to enable everyone to be able to purchase on the platform easily.


Although payments on E-Kitten were planned to be conducted in fiat, fans can benefit from getting up to 20% off each of their purchases. Holding $CUMMIES makes this possible and variable discounts are automatically given based on their holding amount.

Go to Market Strategy

E-Kitten's safe-for-work name, deliberately chosen to appeal to the Twitch streaming community and its fans, allows for a broader range of organic and paid marketing activities across social media platforms. This is a key advantage compared to platforms associated with explicit content, which can face limitations due to content restrictions.


With that in mind, months before the actual launch, the brand established a strong presence on TikTok by curating and highlighting entertaining moments featuring popular female Twitch streamers.

E-Kitten Tiktok Account

Intrigue Campaign

Due to the time required for design, testing, and development processes to be done properly, we avoided announcing an early release date. However, market conditions were improving, and we couldn't stay quiet all that time.


Thus came the moment to launch a pre-launch intrigue campaign, and one of the first advertising moves to connect the cryptocurrency world with E-Kitten: "Get Ranked on E-Kitten".

Main aspects of this phase:


  • Referral Contest: To incentivize user acquisition, we ran a small competition where participants could earn rewards for referring new users.


  • Audience Insights: By capturing information from Twitch sign-ups, we were able to gather valuable data about our target audience and potential content creators.


  • Building Anticipation: Intrigue was generated by keeping the platform shrouded in mystery, with only the name revealed.

The Memecoin Super Cycle

We also aimed to remind every crypto investor that CumRocket was still alive and gearing up for a new platform launch. Interestingly, new meme investors gravitated towards coins with no utility but great community vibes. Therefore, we tailored our strategy to appeal to two distinct groups:


  • Degen Memecoin Investors: They invest in fun coins with strong communities and don't care about utility.


  • Long-term and Conservative Investors: They recognize the exponential potential of a good memecoin but prefer projects with real utility and a solid business direction.

Content for "Raids"

To capitalize on the "Degen" market surge, we launched a meme campaign on social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter). We fostered a fun and engaging competition within our Telegram community, where users voted on the funniest creations. Winners received exciting prizes in CUMMIES, further boosting community spirit.

These were some of my most degen-like memes.

These other were great for the more traditional crypto investors who often poke fun at CumRocket (and other memecoins).

But hey, they came around once they saw we were building a real product!

New Website

In response to the evolving market, Lyd and I decided to revamp the token's website. Our goal was to create a landing page that made an impact from the very first copy, subsequently providing access to technical documents, essential information, and company updates.


We also gave more visibility to some of the best animations created for the brand (previously only appreciated in our Telegram sticker pack), giving them a memorable place on the internet.

Results on the Way

CumRocket experienced a remarkable resurgence in the first half of 2024, reclaiming the price action that made it a disruptive force in 2021. Led by a determined woman who recreated content and coded a new platform from scratch, CumRocket thrives with a community full of talented individuals who believe in its vision.

CumRocket has risen from $0.00141 to a price of $0.034, equivalent to a $40 million market capitalization. A level not seen since 2021.

Brand mentions on the internet have been impressive, with CumRocket trending again and being discussed on some of the biggest crypto YouTube channels.

I can confidently say that my efforts were well rewarded with the increase in token value and this valuable experience.


However, the constant risk in the crypto space involves facing unexpected events that can impact the entire ecosystem. Additionally, I am aware that the adult industry may not be the most suitable for me in the long term. Therefore, I have decided to move on and focus on other types of projects, although my sporadic contributions to CumRocket will not cease entirely.


I am particularly excited about the future of both the token and E-Kitten, as long as the macro-level market conditions are optimal. I trust that their immense potential for growth and optimization will continue to be leveraged.

Follow-up & Learning

Resilience and Adaptability

The journey of CumRocket underscores the importance of resilience and adaptability. Despite the volatile nature of the cryptocurrency market and the challenges faced, the project has managed to rebound and evolve. This resilience is a testament to the strength and dedication of the team and community.

The Secrets Behind a Great Community

The active participation of the users in creating and promoting content played a significant role in maintaining interest and excitement around CumRocket. We can apply many crypto community management methods to other industries too, by encouraging and rewarding community contributions, getting sustained engagement and support.

Strategic Branding and Marketing

Effective branding and marketing strategies were essential in navigating the different phases of the market. Understanding the preferences of different investor groups and tailoring strategies to appeal to both new and conservative investors helped in maintaining relevance and interest in the project.

Continuous Improvement

The decision to optimize the logo, revamp the website, and introduce new features demonstrates the importance of continuous improvement. Keeping the project fresh and aligned with market trends helps in maintaining investor confidence and interest.
